It was 8 June 2004, and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie was the only debut novelist & the youngest writer on the Orange shortlist - for her book, Purple Hibiscus. 3 years on, and she’s hotly tipped for the prize, this time for Half of a Yellow Sun. How will the story end this time? All will be revealed on Wednesday 6 June when this year’s winner is announced.
Nice picture. Cyril Nri? Not sure, but has he been on a number of UK TV programmes...The bill, eastenders...etc?
ReplyDeleteHi AbaBoy,
ReplyDeleteYes, it is the one and the same. The actor, Cyril Nri of the Bill fame.
Would've lurved to lead a 60-man delegation of Nigerian bloggers and politicians to celebrate with our own in London on Wednesday, but, sadly, affairs of state beckon. Please let us know how it goes. I will certainly inform President Umar about this wave-making naija babe. We should rename the Obasanjo Presidential Library after her, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteLovely picture! I have also re-read the article in your previous post with much pleasure.
ReplyDeleteI hope we can expect a full report from this year's award ceremony as well? :-)
