I am so pleased to Chimamanda win this award for Half of a Yellow Sun. I enjoyed the book immensely and have recommended to my book club. I think every Black person should read this book to get an indepth understanding of what the Biafran War was all about. I know I found it very enlightening. I'm also very pleased to have discovered this blog and have added it to my favorites.

We are also so glad about her win. It's just great. I had read her short story Half of a Yellow Sun(before it became a novel) in Zoetrope All Story and instantly knew it was something superb. Thanks for the photos.

I was with a friend when he got an sms announcing her as the winner. I was not surprised... because I expected her to win. I'm so happy she won. I know this is just the beginning.

well done, Chimamanda! There was a NEWSNIGHT (BBC2) feature on her the day she one.

And Congrats to Nigerian writer, Chinua Achebe, for winning the International Man Booker Prize in honour of his literary career: R.E.S.P.E.C.T!

At last someone in the mould of Soyinka and Achebe. Nigerian literature is dying and we need people like her to reawaken it. Cheers and more grease to your elbow
